<p>Most of you who are reading these testimonials want to hear how Megan McGlover helped me lose 20 lbs in two hours or 3 dress sizes with a stroll around the track. If that is what you are looking for here – don’t waste your time reading any further. I know how to diet – I know how to exercise – and most likely, so do you.</p>
<p>Megan’s true talent is teaching you how to live a better life and in doing so; lose the 20 lbs and the dress sizes. My initial meeting with Megan was nothing like I had imagined &#8211; I was the one being interviewed. Megan was deciding if she wanted to work with me; feeling me out as it were to see if I was really willing to do the work. Fortunately for me, I passed the interview.</p>
<p>Megan didn’t put me on a diet – instead she requires me to keep a Food Journal. I write down how I feel before my meal, what I ate and how I feel after the meal. Taking the time to think about the emotions surrounding a meal as well as the meal itself have made a huge impact on the choices I make. I no longer measure my food but I measure why I chose the food in the first place. It is an invaluable tool to my success.</p>
<p>Megan is teaching me technique and content in the gym, of course. But she is also teaching me to be more comfortable with myself while I work out. And working with Megan is no walk in the park… well, that isn’t ENTIRELY true –we have walked in the park a couple of times. I can honestly say the difference in what I could do from the first time to the last blew my mind. But it isn’t that I can now do more than 2 leg-lifts without silently wishing for death or walk 4 miles while having a spirited conversation and never have to stop to catch my breath. It is the difference in the person I am since I met Megan that is the real miracle.</p>
<p>When I met Megan I was overwhelmed with responsibility for my family, my job and my friends. I allowed them all to take and take, never giving anything back. I was stressed, emotionally drained – in a word – defeated. Megan changed all of that. Through the task of sending her daily emails I have a safe place to vent, to share my experiences and to find help. She “gets me”. She is on my side. She wants me to succeed. She doesn’t want to “fix” me – she wants me to learn how to fix myself.</p>
<p>When we started our “Success Journey” it seemed like an impossible trek. Now, I see that ANYTHING is possible. She has taught me to put myself first; to let go to the universe that which I don’t need in my life. I am stronger, I am more confident, I am happier and I am determined to succeed. <p><em>How did you hear about Megan? </em></p>
<p>I first heard about Megan from Jeremiah Christopher, Hollywood, CA, he shared Megan&#8217;s first weather reports from last winter.  At the time I was experiencing some medical issues that started as a cold and rolled right on down the road through the year leading up to the choice of Megan becoming my personal Lifestyle Specialist.</p>

<p><em>What did you expect?</em></p>
<p>In a nutshell, my life back. I know that it sounds like a lot, BUT not for Megan, for me. When I signed my contract with Megan I more so signed a contract with myself. I wanted my like back. Megan is a wonderful beautiful vessel whom God placed in my path of life, to help me heal.</p>

<p><em>What were the issues you wanted to clear up? </em></p>
<p>My goal was to get out into the beautiful neighborhood that we live in and just walk.</p>

<p><em>What did you think after the initial meeting (orientation)?</em></p>
<p>As odd as this sounds, I watched Megan on her videos, how she worked out, the advice she offered to the world. I wanted to make sure she would be a good fit in my life. Megan is as real and funny in person as she is on tape. <strong>A ray of sunshine</strong>. EXACTLY what the Doctor ordered, and a perfect fit for my health needs.</p>

<p><em>What did you think and/or feel after the first workout? </em></p>
<p>I thought I’d never move again, but I also felt jubilant for myself… I was on my way back.</p>

<p>I can! I will! I realize that at this point in my life- I already knew. Megan reminded me. J</p>

<p>Physically, my body is changing. I can see it, my family can see it, and my clothing shows it. My blood pressure shows it as well and my blood labs prove it.</p>

<p>Positive. Megan has reminded my brain cells of what they already knew. Megan has also awakened in me the: I can and I will. Megan also instructed me on the changes I needed to make to adapt to my current life situations.</p>

<p>I’ve never had a personal trainer in my life. But no others can stand next to her. Megan McGlover is indispensable to me.</p>

<p>Do your homework, I certainly did. Make sure your trainer is a good fit for you. Make a choice, and then follow that choice through. <strong>You deserve the best life</strong> you can have no matter what cards you have been dealt.  I will never regret my husband and my decision to have Megan as a part of my health team; which is EXACTLY what she is. She is a spoke in my wheel of life. There is not a price for what she has taught me, awakened in me…and believed in me. My wish is that the Medical/Healthcare industry would realize her contributions to it.</p>

<p>&#8220;I believe there comes a point in life when you’re so tired and frustrated with a situation that you eventually desire a change. I reached that point almost two weeks ago when I realized that my weight had skyrocketed out of control, my energy level was low and my eating and exercise habits left much to be desired. It was during this frustrated period that I saw a Facebook status update from Megan about personal training services. I took the leap and emailed her about her services. <p>Ever since I can remember, I have always been overweight.  I come from a family of 5, where both my parents and one of my two older brothers are also overweight.  We are not a lazy bunch – in fact, we’re a very competitive family, and we do our fair share of physical activity – but we also like to eat.</p>
<p>So what was my motivation for getting a trainer?  You mean other than to look better?  I want to be able to go to the pool without being embarrassed to take off my shirt!  I learned the hard way, that you don’t have to be pregnant (or female) to get stretch marks.  Many people have also told me that I have a similar build to my grandfather… who passed away from a heart attack at the age of 57.  I want to be healthy and live a happy life.</p>
<p>My name is Mike; I am a 21-year-old college student at the University of Florida (Go Gators)!  When I first got to college, I didn’t really gain the famous “Freshman 15,” but instead I gained the “Sophomore 30.”  I’m 5’10” and my starting weight with Megan was 206, and in the 2 months that I spent with her, I lost over 25 lbs.</p>
<p>Like many of you, I have attempted and failed at sticking to a solid workout plan or diet.  I made (the usual) New Years’ Resolution in January to start running at least 3 times a week.  I stuck with my running plan until mid-February and I really was starting to notice some differences in my endurance and dropped from about 210-215 to 206.  But I allowed school and the general stresses of life to consume me and I stopped running.</p>
<p>I have always been interested in the idea of hiring a personal trainer – sometimes, you just need a kick in the butt and sometimes you just don’t even know how to begin!  As a college student, I have never really had the time or money to invest in a trainer…or at least that’s what I thought.  In May, I moved to Atlanta…for the third year in a row this was “the year I was going to make a change!”  In my first week in ATL, I started eating healthier and working out on my own, I went to the gym a time or two and felt pretty good about the effort I put in, but really had no faith that I was going to see any real results.</p>
<p>That’s about the time I saw Megan working out with one of her clients in the gym of my apartment complex.  On a whim, I introduced myself and told her I’d be interested in talking to her more.  To be clear – I am a very analytical person.  I heavily weigh pros/cons of every situation and I’m not entirely impulsive, instead, I’m cautious about the decisions I make.  Needless to say, I was a skeptic and had a lot of questions, because I viewed this as a significant financial investment and time commitment.  A year ago, my older brother paid for a year of training sessions with a PT.  He didn’t really see any results, and eventually stopped going.</p>
<p>Megan refers to herself as a Lifestyle Specialist rather than a personal trainer, and rightfully so.  At the time of our first discussion, Megan was still new to the Atlanta area, and didn’t really have any physical results of her clients that she could show me other than trusting what she said.  Instead, she told me about her psychology background, which turned out to have an enormous impact on me (discussed more below).</p>
<p>She also told me that she was not a typical trainer…her goal isn’t to keep you as a client, she wants to be with you no longer than 1 to 2 months, because after that, her job should be done.  You should be trained.  You should have self-discipline.  Oh, and you’re going to drop the weight.  When Megan told me that by the time I left Atlanta in August, I would drop at least 20 lbs, I laughed out of disbelief.  Two months later and 25 lbs lighter, I laugh at how skeptical I was in the beginning.</p>
<p>Going into my first session, I expected a challenge.  “It ain’t no joke!”  I don’t know how many times Megan told me this in my 2 months with her, but I quickly found out this was her subtle way of saying “You’re going to hate me for what I’m about to make you do.”</p>
<p>It’s not just Megan.  It’s YOU.  You are 100% the key to your success.  You may not realize it until a few weeks into the program.  Megan essentially asks only a few things of you:  (1) fit in 5 workouts a week, (2) do NOT eat chicken and follow her nutrition guide as best as possible, and (3) keep a food journal.  It sounds simple until real life gets in the way, and it takes time to adjust.  But it’s COMPLETELY worth it.  Megan is not your babysitter, she’s your teacher.  It’s still your responsibility to do your homework.</p>
<p>I have always heard of doing a food journal, but this time was different.  You’re not logging it on a website where you have to guess at calories, carbs, or anything like that.  In fact, you don’t have to really think about the calories at all if you’re eating the right foods.  You simply record what you ate.  It is CRITICAL to tell the truth 100% of the time in the food journal, even if you’re feeling really guilty about what you ate, or if you went overboard.</p>
<p>The biggest difference is where the psychology ties into all of this.  Megan has you record not just what you ate, but how you felt before and after the meal or snack.  This was really strange for me.  I’m an adult male, writing down my feelings about food?  Am I supposed to whip out my journal while I’m eating lunch at work and gush about Tuesday’s sandwich?  I had never been held accountable for my feelings about what I eat.  Typically, I would make a mental note of my feelings for each meal, and write them out whenever I got the chance.</p>
<p>I started noticing patterns within 2 weeks.  I was too critical of myself in what I was eating, I felt like I let down both myself and Megan whenever I had a burger or whatever it may have been.  In the past, this was a big reason that would cause me to stop working out – I would get down on myself about my lack of self-discipline, or the usual “it starts again next week!”  Megan taught me to ENJOY what I eat, whether it was healthy, or terrible/delicious.  As long as I was conscious of what I ate, and made up for it by adding an extra 20 minutes in the gym to burn that terribly delicious food off, it was okay.  But it’s also not a game of catch up.  After awhile, I started consciously making the better decisions for myself, and treats become delicacies.</p>
<p>I also discovered that I am extremely money-conscious.  I don’t like to leave anything on my plate, and I hate leftovers…so I don’t stop even when I’m full.  Megan taught me to live in abundance&#8230;  Live in a world where I can be grateful for the fact that I have more than enough food.  It is not wasteful if you live abundantly.</p>
<p>Megan was nothing but encouraging.  She wasn’t expecting an overnight six-pack.  Megan understood that real life stands in the way sometimes.  As a recent college student turned 21, I have faced the pressures of going out and drinking a lot more than I used to – which can easily lead to a lot of weight gain.</p>
<p>But you really are the key to your own success.  She doesn’t want you to miss out on life for the sake of losing weight.  Instead, it should be integrated into every aspect of your life.  As many of you have heard, almost everything is fine in moderation.  At the end of the day, you (hopefully) control what food/drink goes in your mouth.  Even if you’re not cooking your own meal, you still can control what you eat.  If you go out for dinner, substitute French fries for steamed broccoli or another healthier option.  The simple substitutions make a gigantic difference.</p>
<p>Keep your mind open, and be willing to try new things!  I have always said “I can’t cook” and have not allowed myself to even try until my experience with Megan.  Like everything new, you may struggle in the beginning, but you learn quickly that cooking really isn’t that hard, and it makes eating much more enjoyable.  This change was very gradual.  I went from cooking Easy-Mac at the beginning of the summer to cooking Baked Salmon with Papaya Cucumber Sauce and side of sautéed spinach at the end of the summer.  And trust me, when I say “If I can do it, you can too,” I really, really mean it.</p>
<p>If you’re reading this, you’re reading it for a reason.  I implore you, if you do not train with Megan, please do something to get the help you need!  Megan taught me that I am physically more capable than anything I’ve ever imagined, and once you get passed the mental block, you will realize that we all share this potential.</p>
<p>At the end of the day, I sacrificed a week’s pay for a life time of good health and happiness.  Megan has changed my life, I will never turn back, and I have absolutely 100% no regrets.</p>
